Committee Heads for Home & School Association 2010-2011

Hospitality: Sue Cassidy

  • Setting up and cleaning up for Back to School Night and other Home and School General Meetings
  • Coordinating with event chairpeople for needed assistance with food/beverages and kitchen supplies
  • Running Coffee with Kids

Homeroom: Tammy Reed

  • Distributing list of homeroom parents
  • Establishing a phone chain call list
  • Organizing classroom sponsored events
  • Serving as a liaison between H&S and other parents in the class

Science: Maureen Andersen & Mary McMonagle

  • Running EOL’s week long Summer Science Camp in August
  • Supporting EOL’s science classroom needs
  • Running Science Expo during Catholic Schools Week
  • Coordinating Mad Science’s after school program at EOL
  • Getting presenters for Earth Day
  • Establishing other school wide science activities

Technology: John Klein

  • Supporting the computer needs of the school
  • Helping to upgrade and maintain schoolwide computer systems
  • Evaluating hardware and software upgrade options
  • Purchasing and installing hardware and software
  • Implementing technology solutions in the classroom
  • Running and updating school website and email lists

Marketing: Eileen Mahady & Maureen O’Hara

  • Promoting and marketing our school to boost enrollment
  • Compiling marketing folder materials for distribution to interested families
  • Staffing information hotline and providing school tours
  • Running the New Family Orientation Night
  • Coordinating the Family Mentor Program
  • Establishing Alumni Outreach Program

Literature: Angela Lutz & Kate DeMedio

  • Birthday Club (donate a book to the library for your child’s birthday)
  • Artwork on Display (each class can decorate the library with their art for a given month)

Membership: Erin Friday

  • Putting together the annual home and school directory
  • Tracking attendance at the Home and School General meeting
  • Running $500 tuition voucher raffle at last Home and School General meeting
  • Collecting annual H&S membership dues
  • Gathering and disseminating information on members running for H&S executive board
  • Running officer elections at last general H&S meeting of the school year

Fundraising: Beth Kyle

  • Distributing list of homeroom parents
  • Investigate and research fundraising opportunities
