Band and Strings
Students at Epiphany have the opportunity to participate in an instrumental music program beginning in third grade. Band and stringed instruments are offered with instruction, concerts and an end-of-the-year trip. Advanced players may join the jazz band that performs at jazz festivals and concerts. Students may audition for Archdiocesan band and string groups. Many of our students have been selected to perform in the Archdiocesan choir and orchestra.
Scouting
Epiphany has Brownie Troops, Girl Scout Troops, a Boy Scout Troop and a Cub Scout Pack (Grades 1 – 5). Scouts participate in various activities including service projects, crafts, troop trips, and regional activities, including camping trips. One Brownie Troop beautified our school grounds by planting their own garden!
Choir
Children in the third through eighth grades are invited to join the Children’s Choir and/or School Chorus. The choir sings regularly at weekend masses throughout the year, including the Children’s Christmas Mass. The Chorus performs at our annual Spring Concert.
Science Enrichment Programs
All students in Grade 5-8 participate in our annual Science Expo. Children in Grades Pre-K through 4 can choose to participate as well. Epiphany students also compete in the regional Envirothon competition, held annually. Students must qualify to compete. In addition, we hold an annual Summer Science Camp for students entering K-8. The children conduct experiments, play games, and make arts and crafts based on five exciting themes.
Book Club
Students in Grades 4–8 meet bi-weekly to discuss literature as recommended by Montgomery County Reading Olympics. Our principal leads the discussions. These students compete in the Reading Olympics in April. This is a great way to encourage our students to read and help them appreciate the joy of reading!
Student Government
Students in Grades 4-8 can participate in student government. The children lead service projects to help those in need. They also organize fun activities for the student body including dress down days and raffles.
Instructional Basketball League (IBL)
Children from first through fourth grades can participate in the IBL at Epiphany. IBL is designed to teach the first and second grade children basketball basics and provide the third and fourth grade children a way to improve their skills in a semi-competitive atmosphere.
Math League
Students in Grades 5-8 participate annually in the Pennsylvania Mathematics League Competition.
Performing Arts Club (PAC)
Drama, music, dance, design, film! We’re covering it all! Performing Arts Club is designed to enrich the culture and embrace the creativity in our students. Sixth through eighth grades can participate in various theatrical projects over the course of the school year. With a Fall Drama and Spring Musical, children are given the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the theatre. Students can be active in PAC by becoming an actor, playwright, crew member, designer, choreographer, or musician. Guest speakers, weekend field trips to local theatres, and various workshops are strategically planned for students with a love and respect of the performing arts.
